Félix Faure: Cartagena is in the Easter argument to outdo itself (26/03/2010)

The rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena and preacher of the Holy Week of this city, Felix Faure, stressed today that Cartagena processions in the argument to go beyond itself: Easter is the soul of this city.

Félix Faure has started its intervention in the Nuevo Teatro Circo thanking the four older brothers of the guilds representing the honor for its rector UPCT and be worthy of the Easter proclamation.

The preacher has focused a portion of the opening from an analytic perspective, emphasizing aspects, details, technical arguments that are beyond our processions and are probably responsible for much of its magnificence.

Began by noting the fact that Easter does not last for seven days, but ten, rather than a contradiction in terms, it means that we have the largest Holy Week in Spain.

Faure has used a geometric model, a polyhedron, to explain his vision of the processions that begin today.

This polyhedron would, in his view, a central core that would be the fact that religious and historical procession and six faces of varying size and importance in terms of personal perspective in Cartagena.

After analyzing the essential characteristics of religious core: its nuclear force, its potential energy, his way of expressing a religious events that invite us to think that, despite everything, there is always hope, or what is equal to, the nonsense and despair are not part of our religion, explained the characteristics of the geometric model.

Three sides of this geometric shape represent the physical projections in which Easter was obvious: the city and urban space "that kind of state of grace that has Cartagena during these ten days that makes us feel a little more important to show our city-the economic and commercial activity "religious tourism, in our case of international interest, is a source of material resources worth protecting-and-guilds themselves working with an enviable illusion in a endless loop restarts at the end of Easter each year.

The other three faces, immaterial or intangible, represent the chemistry of Easter, "added the rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.

The sense of identity cartagenera Easter "is more than a tradition, is the soul of Cartagena, the intensification of feelings of ethical and aesthetic living many people outside the Church's teaching" something of a sense immersion in the totality, of reverence and respect for those things that move us or overflow, and an intensification of religious feeling "many good Catholics experience a very intense and different their faith and in a way, Easter makes them feel and enjoy, collectively, what can only be felt individually with himself in solitude.

The preacher also made a review of the role of engineering expertise universe, as essential to that from the religious core can get to see the faces of Easter.

He recalled that Cartagena has always been a land of engineers as evidenced by their industrial, marine, mining, agricultural and military, and that precisely this ambition to be a land permanently open to knowledge is what helped create the UPCT to project to a always uncertain and exciting future.

Félix Faure began his description with the work of industrial engineering is needed for the four brotherhoods and more than forty groups mobilize more than twenty thousand people who are responsible for laying off ten parades with 75 seats, thirty of them borne on the shoulders.

And yet, all this incredible wealth of material and human resources functions as a single body.

All this is possible only because they combine two very special types of interventions.

Human intervention is assisted by engineering excellence and divine intervention that protects us from any eventuality.

Later, the town crier has referred to the importance of mechanical engineering who helped design the best thrones: Considerable calculations necessary to lighten the weight limit, properly distributed mass and thrust or to determine and optimize the center of gravity a throne with the San Juan Californio.

Not forgetting, electrical engineering, which replaced the swaying wax lights and paved the way to a new aesthetic light much more intense and recently allowed to enter the LED lighting.

Finally, the rector of the UPCT cited the contribution of chemical engineering citing innovations such as blown glass shades one by one in the Royal Glass Factory of La Granja for the statues of the Holy Love of San Juan in Solitude Our Lady of Capuz and the undoubted contribution of agricultural engineering in Cartagena thrones that lead to one thousand and twelve nas of cut flowers.

The proclamation of Félix Faure concluded with a reminder of their personal experiences with the Holy Week when he went down the Pearl District with his grandfather Felix to see the collection of the procession of the meeting in the bar Mastia of Main Street: The smells, music The picket people, the city, everything was imposed so that one thought he was really in a colossal show, or rather celestial.

The rector of the Polytechnic University has not ignored its participation as a saddler with friends of his youth or that principle of freedom that was supposed to live the nightlife of the meeting.

It has also highlighted the opportunity that has been as president to strengthen ties between the university and all the guilds, ending the trading session with his experience as portapasos: I must admit that carry the Cristo de los Estudiantes, at dawn on Friday, surrounded of colleagues, but in respectful silence, almost alone, is an experience that allows you to reflect, revise, rethink.

It allowed me to rediscover that behind a sleek appearance and aesthetics, there is another world possible.

WORDS OF THE NAZARENE

The proclamation was preceded by welcoming remarks from the mayor and the presentation of Felix Faure and Mary Dolores Solerla Celdran, the Nazarene Mayor, has made the vice chairman of the Board of guilds, Tomás Martínez Pagán.

In his speech the Mayor Nazarene were particularly excited, with a faltering voice.

His words have had a special memory of his parents and his childhood in which she began living with current things Easter.

In this sense it has claimed that his appointment - not what I expected and she was grateful, "has served to recall experiences and reaffirm the meaning religious processions.

He has also said that this year will live in a special way processions, learning new aspects of the parades, but without forgetting their devotion to Our Lady of Mercy.

Among the authorities present at this act of exaltation of the values of Cartagena's Holy Week was the president of the Regional Assembly, together with the bishop of Cartagena, José Manuel Lorca Planes, general delegate of the Government, Rafael González Tovar, Admiral Maritime Action chief, Emilio José Nieto Manso, and the Minister of Health, María Ángeles Palacios.
