El Barrio de la Concepción seen by his neighbors and alternative dates, in Much More May (17/03/2010)

The selection of Mucho Mas Mayo Festival, organized by the Youth Council of the City of Cartagena, has selected 40 projects for young talent to serve on this year's Festival program, after studying the 160 artistic creations that have been presented .

Enter the winners, again chose a neighborhood emblematic of the city as protagonist, in this case, the Barrio de la Concepcion Barrio Perceived project, with photos taken by its own inhabitants.

They have given their intimate and private views, so that images uploaded to the website of the Festival preceded by the image of their authors.

The music, as usual, has a special place in the Festival, including two projects.

One of them, called Silent Party, invited to a celebration that brings together music lovers of any style to perceive sound through wireless headphones connected to the DJ's table, all enlivened with a visual spectacle.

The other, entitled Concerto for sea masts, creating a new environment with ocean sounds, the poles begin to sound, intensify and give way to the sea that does play, booster masts, blown shells, trombone C minor and the voices and cello beginning their tune.

Piano, bass, guitars, winds, percussion and harp give vent to his message, wrapping the audience with effects of light on the city dock.

These projects and 37 more are in addition to other activities to build the final program of what promises to be an important issue (Night of Museums, concerts, guest artists, educational workshops, conferences and debates, one urban world ... etc. .)

The selection committee, chaired by the Councillor for Youth, Ruth Collins, and composed of Marta López Briones, Director of Centro Cultural Puertas de Castilla, Martin Lejárraga, Architect, Esther Navarro Baeza, Director Cartagena Film Festival, Javier Gomez Segura Hernández, Director University of Fine Arts of Murcia, Patricio Hernandez Perez, Coordinator of the Festival Much More May, and M ÂŞ del Mar Sánchez Amor, representative of the technical team of the Festival Much More May, has taken account of artistic quality, adaptation to the urban environment , complementarity between the different proposals and their material and economic viability.

MORE MAY BE CONSOLIDATED

Mucho Mas Mayo Festival, which in a few years has established itself as one of the most important and original references festival artistic interventions, has received proposals from all over Spain and other parts of the world (Sweden, Argentina, Costa Rica, Portugal, Mexico, etc..), and correspond to the most diverse artistic disciplines (music, dance, theater, circus, photography, performances and street-art), being common and the merger of several of them in the same performance.

The Festival of Young Talents, reaching this year its 5 th edition, is a program of artistic interventions in urban settings developed by young people in all registers creative, using public spaces and unconventional places in the city of Cartagena, to be held between 10 to May 23, 2010.
