Housing, employment and education most requested services by young people (03/03/2010)

Area Youth of the Youth Council has developed the memory of 2009 in which highlights the significant increase in telephone inquiries, and especially on-line, thanks partly to the success of the enterprise portal with 12,000 visitors since it opened in January

In times of crisis like these, one sector is clearly affected the youth, trying to cope if situation by going to the advisory and guidance are available to them.

To meet this strong demand, the Youth Space in the Youth Council offers its services through its various spaces, which have been used for 11 percent of the county's youth population aged 14 to 35 years in person during 2009.

In addition to face service, the Youth Space also offers its services through online forms and telephone, which have experienced a notable increase over the face.

New technologies come easily to young people and this translates into the success of actions such as starting, thanks to the collaboration of several councils, business portal, which since it opened last January has already been registered 12,000 visits.

According to Ruth María Collado, the importance of this site is not only in their service to job seekers, but also advice and guidance to entrepreneurs and young entrepreneurs who come to us for help.

Another significant finding in the Report of Youth Space is the substantial increase during 2009 in the demand for foreign students, from 578 youth in 2008 to 724 last year, representing an increase of 25.3 percent.

In this regard, there have been up to 41 nationalities, although the most common are Moroccans and Ecuadorians, followed by Colombians, Romanians and Bolivians.

Finally, note that the Youth Space has expanded its activities in 2009, within the Language Exchange program, Implica2, shares a flat, Intervention and the aforementioned Socio Business Portal.

To all this must be added the development of new portals like Ct.Joven, a kind of virtual observatory of the situation of young people aimed at optimizing the performances that are organized for it, and running shortly queentrará.
