The Socialists denounced neglect and dirt on the promenade of the lighthouse at Cabo de Palos (28/02/2010)

In recent months, one of the most representative s visited by tourists and residents for its scenic beauty and special enclave, the waterfront esplanade near the lighthouse at Cabo de Palos, has suffered neglect and lack of cleaning the municipality of Cartagena.

In deplorable state is unfortunately also the monument with the neighbors of this population in 2006 honored those who perished in the sinking of Sirius (back in 1906) and that is now hidden among large piles of dirt, debris, large stones, broken beds and threatened by rust.

As stated by Salvador Martinez, head of the Socialists in the area, "It is shameful that such an important place in the tourist routes and loved by locals, such as EL FARO DE CABO DE PALOS, remains surrounded by a promenade in such bad conservation status, especially bearing in mind that is a must for tourists and residents who are attracted by its wonderful views of the Mediterranean and La Manga. "

Socialists call for the urgent intervention of municipal crews to reconstruct the original appearance of this important tourist resort that also houses the monument in homage of the residents of Cape Palos to those who lost their lives in the sinking of Sirius (1906) and opened in summer 2006.

For Martinez, "This is a sample of marginality with which the municipal government People's Party comes to this council of Cartagena. It is imperative that this landscape is restored and cleaned before the next Easter, the date on which Cape Palos, like many towns in the region, are filled with residents and tourists looking to enjoy a perfect environment magazine.
