Cartagena and closer thanks Ecuador Canar Project (22/02/2010)

Currently there are 4,000 Ecuadorians living in Cartagena, a considerable amount quejustifica development projects to promote training and employment, as well as Councilman, has proven to be effective.

For its part, Canar Project Director of the Spanish International Cooperation Agency, Inmaculada Campos, explained the aspects in which we are working both in Murcia and in the Canton Canar in Ecuador, on the one hand the productive and other investments in psychosocial support, mainly women and children, who suffer most from the effects of migration.

The City of Cartagena is one of four municipalities in the region that participates in the Canar, action by the Spanish International Cooperation Agency which has also joined the Autonomous Community.

JOINT DEVELOPMENT: DRAFT Canar-MURCIA

The City of Cartagena, through the Municipal Institute of Social Services, estáintegrado officially since 2007 in the Local Action Committee (CAL) Project in Murcia Canar.

Specifically, and from the Interconcejalías Plan, initiated and promoted by the Immigration Program and Development Cooperation of the IMSS, were marked as targets of Codesarrollo the following:

1.

Facilitate the participation of the immigrant population of the municipality in local development activities in their areas of origin.

2.

Assist in the training of the immigrants in the municipality.

3.

Collaborate with the Regional Co-development projects.

4.

Seen in the municipal budget a line of action for co-development projects that promote the active participation of immigrants.

Among the actions to support the Annual Operating Plan (POA), the City has developed through the collective Jatari Tupac Ecuadorian and Central Association of Motion Canario (ACMOC), host performances and participation.
