The woman takes on more roles in today's Europe (22/01/2010)

The Councillor for Women, Rosario Montero, spoke at the roundtable that took place on Thursday in the Municipal Archives.

The mayor chatted with a group of teachers from various countries.

First explained everything that is managed in relation to women from their council, starting with the issue of wife beating, specialized care centers, along with occupational and other workshops.

It also gave them brochures, some published in 4 languages to facilitate access to information.

Finally, said the evolution of women in recent times, in which gradually assume more roles, and the role that education develops in favor of a more equitable society ever.

The conversation was spent in a relaxed atmosphere and is able to collect lots of data important for implementing the project, which will last two years: 2010-2012.

The IES Jiménez de la Espada, Coordinator of Comenius Project 'Women in Our Culture', has been on this occasion to host this first preparatory meeting, where the teachers have been involved coordinating Norway, Poland, Romania, Belgium and Spain.

The research aims to study the situation of women over time in relation to work, school and family, within the participating countries.

Together with the Councillor, spoke at the round table of four of the teachers participating in the project countries: Spain, Belgium, Norway and Romania, with Flora Lorente, the coordinator of the project team at the European level, in addition to being responsible for the bilingual section of Comenius in the IES Jiménez de la Espada.

During the preparatory visit is not all work, so you have scheduled a series of activities to meet the cultural and archeological heritage of Cartagena and its surroundings, ranging from a visit to the Roman Theater, Palace Hall, Cartagena Modernist and archaea, a Escape to Mazarrón, going for a meal at the Hotel School and a ride on the tourist bus for a first contact with the city.

A PROJECT WITHOUT BORDERS

The city of Cartagena, through the Department of Youth and Women, working with IES Jiménez de la Espada in the organization of the preparatory visit of a new project within the Comenius program, which will be presented on February 19 before the National Agency (Organismo Autónomo European Educational Programs) for approval.

Women in Our Culture is the name of the project to be developed in 7 EU countries (Spain, Belgium, Italy, Norway, Poland and Romania) during the period 2010-2012, for which, the faculty coordinators in each country have different encounters, which include the preparatory visit will take place in Cartagena from 20 to 23 January.

The general aim of this paper is to analyze the role of women in our culture, seeing his performance in various areas such as school, work and family, for which we will study the current role in their respective countries, as well its past and its evolution, taking into account that different economic development suffered by each participating nation.

The investigation will examine the role of women in society and migration, and also see the influence in that society of religion, traditions and education.

This is to examine the possibility of maintaining the values of the local population within a global Europe, where the role of women in the maintenance and access to knowledge of cultural traditions can be critical.
