A student of UPCT gets the first national prize in the contest "Entrepreneur University" (12/11/2009)

The student of UPCT Jaime Fernández Caro, with their project "Innoriego" has got this morning were the first prize in the national "Entrepreneur University" organized by the Escuela de Organización Industrial (EOI).

Among the six finalists in this national competition, was also a student of UPCT, Antonio Sierra, who has won the first runner-up prize with her project "Algorithm Engineering".

The national final competition of the EOI entrepreneurial university has benefited from the presence of two students UPCT.

Was held this morning in Madrid, in the Auditorium of the School of Industrial Organization, in the framework of the Universidad Complutense.

The student finalists presented their project to the jury, and following discussions, the first prize was awarded to the student of the UPCT Jaime Fernández Caro, with their project "Innoriego."

The project involves the design of an electronic device capable of automating the irrigation facilities for agriculture, irrigation and garden sports, fueled by hydropower own water and managed through a mobile phone.

For his part, Antonio Sierra, with their project "Algorithm Engineering" has won the fifth place a project providing basic solutions of information technology and communication for small and medium enterprises.

His proposal includes an innovative virtualized software-based PBX voice over IP.

In the presentation of the project, Jaime Fernandez said they have received from the Region of Murcia lot of support with the presence of the directors of the centers and CEEIM CEEIC, the director of the Bancaja-chair and professor UPCT UPCT Domingo García Pérez de Lema, and representatives of Info

The first prize is a scholarship for a Master valued at 18,000 euros, and as the winner, "will have the full support of partner institutions to conduct business."

It adds that "our aim is to consolidate the company's already working, and bring forth new innovation projects, research and development."

The two students know that "education and research are the way to development and sound economic and social growth."

Both have started their own businesses ( www.microingenia.com and www.algoritmoingeniería.com ) and represent a model for its commitment to regional development.

EOI Business School was founded in 1955 by the initiative of the Ministries of Education and Industry, and has the primary mission of dedicating their teaching and research to the development of management talent and improving the technical skills of graduates, managers and business people who attend its classes.

The contest initiative seeks to advance research and competitiveness, both at university and in business, to enable transfer of knowledge between them.
