The presentation of the Regional Budgets for 2010 has brought us the news that the amounts for work in Districts and Councils of Cartagena will be reduced by half.

From UPyD of Cartagena, while recognizing the seriousness of the current economic crisis that motivates the austerity of public accounts, we regret that the economics of regional budgets for works on the outskirts of town, with major deficiencies in facilities and infrastructure were have been cut so drastically.

This is discrimination against the citizens residing in these areas, in relation to the city center., Favoring the existence of several categories of citizens, and inequality in creating conditions for development of public spaces, parks, lighting, etc. ..

In contrast, the level of taxation does not discriminate, everyone pays the same.

Cartagena UPyD requests, first to the City of Cartagena Regional Government requiring the expansion of such budget, and secondly, during the parliamentary process of the budget in the Regional Assembly, the regional parliament, both the PSOE and the PP, introduce the necessary amendments to expand the money for Barrios and Works Councils in the municipality of Cartagena.
