On Sunday November 8th held at the Esplanade of the Port from 11.00 to 19.00, the third edition of 'The world in your place', an initiative which aims to promote the participation of immigrant communities, to to know the different cultures in our city from a recreational perspective, and to promote coexistence.
This year there are 28 associations participating in the event organized by the Department of Social Services, together with the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Murcia Welcomes and CAM, which was presented today with the participation of Deputy Mayor Augustine Guillén, Councillor Social Care, Antonio Calderon, President Welcomes Murcia, José Luis García, and regional director of the CAM, Ángel García.
This year's edition, with a budget of 14,000 euros, was organized thinking in these days of crisis they face, so that, in addition to serving deencuentro of diverse cultures, will also provide information on the various social benefits offered to the group immigrants.
As noted by the Deputy Mayor, City Hall uncertain about his collaboration with this activity because it will always be present in everything that has to do with social benefits and subsidies for integration.
Around a dozen workshops and actividadesrelacionadas with cooking, art, folklore, tastings and a performance space to promote diversity and peaceful coexistence in Cartagena, will meet in this space created for the meeting of cultures.
As a novelty, there will be a workshop to translate messages in caps, allowing children to express their solidarity.
A world in your place last year attracted 6,000 people, a figure that is expected to overcome this issue.
Remember that 14 percent of the population are immigrants from Cartagena, as recently pointed out the mayor, the most numerous Ecuadorians and Moroccans.
