45,000 euros for the supervised flats immigrants (03/11/2009)

The Department of Social Affairs has provided a municipal contribution of 45,000 euros for the maintenance of the supervised apartments for men and immigrant women, who managed in our city and Caritas Welcomes Murcia.

The ceremony took place at the office of Councilman Antonio Calderon in La Milagrosa, where the recipients of aid, José Luis García Díaz of the local branch of Murcia Welcomes and Francisco Pérez-Chirinos Montesinos Caritas Cartagena.

Through these grants temporary accommodation is provided, coverage of basic needs and emergency care, immigrant men and women who are in our municipality in social risk.

Caritas protected floor is dedicated to accommodate immigrant women with or without dependents who lack housing.

The residence time is about three months: long enough to learn Spanish, recuros know the area and can become independent.

Welcomes Murcia floor houses men without dependents who need accommodations for a maximum of three months to regularize their situation and integrate social and labor.

The origin of the users of these floors is mainly sub-Saharan and North Africa.

During their stay they are prepared for incorporation into a normal life, through a job search, literacy classes, search for permanent accommodation and contacts with other groups and associations.
