The Health Center of Old Town will open its doors in early 2010 (26/10/2009)

Senior officials of the Ministry of Health have today held its meeting on Monday in Cartagena, where they have been reviewing the centers and clinics to be built, which are about to be inaugurated and the works of general hospital

The Board of Directors of the Ministry of Health was held today at the Palace Hall in Cartagena one of their regular meetings and traveling, where they were received by the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, and in which, using their stay in our city have reviewed the health situation and state of health centers and clinics in urban and county councils.

As far as health centers are concerned, is also underway on the Barrio de la Concepción, whose project is the extension of the existing office, and is also being drafted by the San Anton project.

As doctors, are already completed and opened next to the El Albujón and Cuesta Blanca, and as the minister announced, will begin next year the works of the of the valley and La Palma, though they may appear infrastructure small, are closest to citizens and therein lies its importance, stressed Palacios.

Finally, with reference to the work of the new General Hospital of Cartagena, the Minister of Health claimed that continues as expected, no delays and during the first months of 2010 will be received and begin the phase of equipment that will last a 6 or 7 months, which over the last quarter of next year will begin the first shipments of the new hospital services.

All this, as María Ángeles Palacios, without forgetting the Rosell Hospital, Second emergency door, an outpatient system that has dramatically improved patient service and a significant increase in staffing, both medical and non medical.

PREPARED FOR THE FLU

The Ministry of Health is prepared for any incidents that may cause the flu exceed acceptable levels, ie in excess of 15,000 patients (1% of the population, approximately).

Among the measures envisaged are the reinforcement of personal and empowerment of specific areas for flu patients.
