Joel Gonzalez Bonilla, a student of the Faculty of Business Sciences at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, just proclaimed in Copenhagen absolute world champion in taekwondo.
He managed to climb to the top of the podium in the under 58 kg category after playing the final against Mexican Damian Villa and left behind 74 other competitors.
The young man had already been proclaimed the world university champion representing the UPCT
"Joringel" after the victory, this student is 20 years and fulfilled a dream that goes back eight years ago, when on 12 he began practicing the sport with the harvest now this victory.
Currently studying gets simultaneous business and training through the Program of High Level Athletes UPCT.
On arrival in Spain, Taekwondo national team was received by the Secretary of State for Sport, Jaime Lissavetzky, they welcomed the seven metals achieved: three gold, one silver and three bronzes.
