The Court agrees with the Municipal Group Socialist Cartagena against "arbitrary and undemocratic attitude" of Pilar Barreiro (06/10/2009)

The Secretary of Justice and Civil Liberties of the Regional Executive PSRM-PSOE, Joaquin Lopez, has confirmed that this morning has reported the Judgement dated September 22, 2009 issued by the Court of Administrative No.1 Cartagena, which "has estimated the lawsuit filed at the time by members of the Municipal Socialist Group in the city of Cartagena about unfair treatment and arbitrary conducted by the Mayor Pilar Barreiro in relation to the scheme the council released the largest opposition group in the Consistory.

This ruling vindicates the council of the Socialist Party in the city of Cartagena, overriding the Mayor's decision to deprive of releases that rightfully belonged to them, forcing the council to allocate the Municipal Group Socialist a number of councilors in scheme time basis based on the proportional representation of each political group.

This, taking into account the historical background of the resolutions agreed by the City of Cartagena, which would mean that, at least, should be released the speaker and two more councilors.

Lopez has welcomed the court ruling obtained by showing your time wisely by not being a final decision to be subject to appeal, but stating in turn "now what is necessary to rectify the mayor of Cartagena, abide by the Judgement issued and agreed to grant the releases that rightfully belong to the council of the Socialist Municipal Group, thus ceasing its undemocratic and obstructionist behavior repeated the work of legitimate opposition made by the Socialist Group in the City.
