Cartagena reach the mobile in the new tourist portal (17/07/2009)

The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, today presented with the Councillor for Tourism, Javier Herrero, the new tourism web portal starts and an improvement of the service offered to visitors in response to the growing demand for a sector head placed on revenue received by the city (the last year were 475,000 pages of tourism visits).

We are the fourth most visited page of the council of Spain, just behind Barcelona, Madrid and La Coruña, and the third most visits for the administration of the region, only surpassed by Autonomous Community of Murcia Health Service, which leaves demonstrate its usefulness and has high regard by users, the mayor stressed.

With the new portal, which can be accessed through its own address, www.cartagenaturismo.es, or through the council website, visitors can download to your phone (from the Municipal Tourism Office or via bluetooth) information on routes , tourist transportation, hotel ... a completely free service offered by the City Council to facilitate the visit to the city.

But this is not the only novelty, since the new site includes a travelogue through which visitors set their own personal tour guide.

It has also developed a more graphical and interactive, with many pictures and videos of the city, which also gives the tourists the chance to upload their own images to go to expand the gallery.

The information, which has enhanced both in the description of tourist routes on historical data, will be updated continuously and appears throughout the site in four languages: Castilian, English, French and German, also offering links to tourism pages around the city.
