Hicham Ceesepe Benohoud and star in The Ocean of Art (06/07/2009)

Councillor for Culture, Rosario Montero, has opened today by two major exhibitions this year starring Art La Mar, in the XV Festival La Mar de Músicas dedicated this year to Morocco, and collecting the works of Hicham Benohoud, Moroccan surrealist photographer and Ceesepe, key artist and author Movida Madrilena Festival poster of this issue.

Both artists have been present at the opening of their exhibitions.

Benohoud Hicham (Marrakech, 1968), one of the most outstanding artists and rebels in his country, has presented 'The classroom II', a series of black and white photographs taken in the classroom of a school in Marrakech during the time school at the time who taught visual arts.

Benohoud himself asked his students to pose for him using the class object, thus learning a new way to interact with the teacher.

On this subject the Moroccan artist made two series, the first was published in 2001 and the second, conducted between 2000 and 2002, more radical and transgressive, is now bringing Cartagena.

According to Hicham Benohoud, I want to convey with my work and his character is a surreal criticism of the Moroccan society on all fronts, both political and religious culture, showing an absolute freedom that is opposed to the dogmas that prevail in my country.

For its part, the illustrator, graphic artist and painter Ceesepe, one of the leading figures of the Movida Madrilena and the poster of the Sea Music Festival this year, has opened its exhibition "Visionary ', which contains the sketches has been designing for over a year to qualify for the festival poster.

They portray their own vision of Morocco, with all its stereotypes, but focusing instead on the oasis of the desert, and mixes it with his vision of Cartagena and the most typical of this land, with all her Mediterranean essence.

I am not poster or designer, I am a figurative painter and I paint what I like and this work I liked it, said the artist.

Ceesepe has participated in numerous exhibitions in Geneva, Paris, Amsterdam and Madrid, and also has published several books with his work.

He has also made posters for two films of Pedro Almodovar, "Pepi, Luci Bom and Other Girls Like" and "Law of Desire."

Both exhibitions can be seen at the Centro Cultural Ramón Alonso Luzzy until 31 August.
