The delegate of the Government commitment to diversification of the business as an engine of development (30/06/2009)

Cartagena, 30 June 2009.-The Government Delegate, Rafael González Tovar, visited with the Director of the Department of Industry and Energy of the Government Office, Francisco Faraco regasification plant in Cartagena Enagás will be the first of this company is prepared to discharge LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) for large vessels.

Tovar González highlighted the entrepreneurial spirit of this company that helps diversify the business in this region, representing an important engine of development to create jobs and make more companies more competitive domestically and internationally.

The Government Delegate has pointed out the continued investment by the Government of Spain has made in R + D + i, which since 2004 has tripled its budget.

In this sense he recalled that last year the Region of Murcia received direct subsidies to businesses in the region in R + D + I worth more than 24 million euros, from both the Ministry of Industry and the Center for Industrial Technology Development depends on this.

In regard to Enagas plant in Cartagena, said the importance of energy supply that performs a large number of citizens both travésd and pipelines as well as tanks, counting with an emission capacity of 1,350,000 m Cu (n) / h.

Currently, Enagás has about 200 km pipeline that supply through one of its branches to the people of Cartagena to Orihuela, while a second section runs from Cartagena to Murcia, Fuente Alamo through, Lorca, Totana and Alhama.

of a new gas pipeline from Algeria, stretching from Almeria to Chinchilla and a section through the region with 148 miles that run from Almeria Lorca and the Northwest region, and will involve an investment that will be around 142.5 million euros.

González Tovar also highlighted the various extensions that have been carried out recently in the Plant.

In particular the launch last year of the fourth LNG storage tank with a capacity of 150,000 cubic meters and the system ampliacióndel boil-off recovery.

They will be complemented this year's fifth storage tank with a total capacity of 587,000 meters of LNG

Civil Guard Training

The Government delegate reported that the Area of Industry of the Government Delegation in Murcia has made this week a training seminar on "Safety of gas installations in the Region of Murcia", led to 50 civil guards, who include in their inspection routes such facilities.

He indicated the importance of this body know the most sensitive points such as valve positions and the Regulating and Metering Stations located at the beginning of the distribution system populations, industrial, .. etc.
