Open Day at Nazareth Torre Santa Ana for its fourteenth anniversary (08/06/2009)

On Tuesday, June 9 Haven Foundation Store San Pedro celebrates the anniversary of the Home Tower XIV Nazareth, located in Santa Ana, Cartagena is the only shelter Region Murciapara people affected by HIV / AIDS with criteria advanced disease, with other associated diseases or dying.

The City of Cartagena, through the Municipal Institute of Social Services and the Department of Social Services, working with the center, through the granting of various subsidies and grants.

The celebration will begin at 13.00, with an open day with paella for all attendees, and later plays and games.

Permanent residence or foster home, the Home Tower is open and attended Nazareth, 365 days a year for 24 hours a day, with the usual residence of the residents or users of the program.

The multidisciplinary team consists of the attending health professionals, social worker, psychologist, lawyer, educator, social and kitchen staff, cleaning and maintenance, and ongoing volunteer shifts.

All staff as part of the program, both professionals and volunteers, following a continuing education program for working with the proper preparation and effectiveness.

As a method of internal operations we rely on team work.

Home works with twelve residents on average.

The people served are in situations of economic and social exclusion.

They are concerned that they can not cope with the difficulties arising from their illness because they can not fend for themselves or for lacking the basic means of subsistence that are not supported by their families or who do not have sufficient financial resources to meet assistance required at this stage of the disease.

Have priority in admission users who have associated, either directly or indirectly, other disabilities or illnesses.

Usually derived from the Hospitals of the Region, Municipal Social Services, Citizens Committee to Fight AIDS, or other private organizations like Red Cross and Caritas Jesus Forsaken.

Home care is comprehensive in many respects to users: health (physical care, grooming, medication, etc.), Social, psychological, emotional, spiritual, health, food, assistance and support, workshops, tours, excursions, visits cultural (if allowed by your state of health), continuing education, participation in civic platforms.

It also attempts to integrate social and labor of those residents who can combine it with their health.

We ensure that the environment in the center as pleasant as possible, celebrating the events of everyday life as one big family (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.)..

Due to the improvement and current progress of antiretroviral drugs can speak of a true chronicity of the disease, which required the constant care that this type of user requires.

The aim of that part is to improve the quality of life, but we find people with serious consequences (physical, psychological and social), requiring a constant accompaniment by one or more qualified professionals who comprise the multidisciplinary center as well as of volunteer as volunteers with the program.
