Education Closing the program on good eating habits and responsible consumption (29/05/2009)

Councillor for Education of the City of Cartagena, Joseph Marotta, accompanied by the coordinator of Education, Damián Pérez, the program ended yesterday "Good eating habits and responsible consumption," which the council is developing with the Associations of Mothers and Fathers (AMPAS ) of fifteen colleges and institutes in the municipality.

The program has developed over this school year a series of training workshops and lectures, taught by pediatricians Health Center Barrio Peral, teachers of IES El Bohio, a psychologist who specializes in the subject, and teachers of the School Hospitality.

Two talks by specialist teachers of IES El Bohio on food advertising strategies, and child nutrition; a talk about balanced and appropriate infant feeding by pediatricians Health Center Barrio Peral, on guidelines for action in problem behaviors in nutrition and food and, finally, a practical kitchen for parents in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Cartagena, have been part of this program over 2008-2009.

Indeed, the closure was in practice at the School of Hospitality and Tourism Cartagena, where parents learned how to prepare certain types of foods (fruits, vegetables, fish ...), a visually attractive to children, to encourage consumption.

The event was attended by a total of 32 parents of AMPAS various participants, such as school Vicente Ros, Garden City, Cuatro Santos, Antonio Ulloa, Hispania, the Encarnación, José María Lapuerta, San Felix, Feliciano Sánchez López Primitiva , Santa Florentina (La Palma), IES El Bohio, Barrio Peral EIM, EIM and EI El Algar Pipiripao.
