Slalom Tour of Murcia 2009 (21/04/2009)

Councillor for Sports, Alonso Gomez, along with Pedro de los Santos Roman, president of the Sailing Federation of Murcia, Juan José Bafalliu, sailor and member of WindSurf and Diego Valera, president of Santa Lucia and vocal CN Sailing Classical America Sailing Federation Murcia presented this morning Murciano Slalom Circuit 2009, whose first test was held during this weekend near 25th and 26th April.

As explained during the presentation, Murciano circuit consists of four races, to be held on 25 and 26 April, 9 and 10 May, 4 and 5 July, 12 and 13 September and in several locations: the dock of the Port of Cartagena, Playa Honda, Playa del Vivero, also in the Mar Menor, and unconfirmed elsewhere.

The slalom is the mode most similar to a race 'pure' between beacons.

Each participant will be graded according to the order of finish that will accumulate test after test.

The median of these scores will result in the winner of this Circuit.

It is a test that counts for regional and national ranking.

It is estimated that there will be a participation of 20 to 40 racers per event, in several categories: senior (over 18 years), Masters (over 35 years), junior (under 18 years), female, and Open for participants from other regional federations.

Currently in the region there are about 1,100 federal in this sport, of which half are in the municipality of Cartagena.

In this championship include two Cartagena that are very well placed in the national rankings: first the senior Oscar Alcazar, and the other, the young star, Juan Pedro Garcia.
