The PSOE does not understand the silence before the situation Valcárcel Repsol Cartagena (17/04/2009)

The regional deputy Rosique socialist Teresa said that "from the PSRM not understand the silence of President Valcárcel about the situation of Repsol in Cartagena and uncertainty that this situation has created among workers and society in general."

Rosique believes "Valcarcel has some explaining to citizens regarding the level of knowledge that the regional government was and is the situation created in Repsol, after the announcement of the temporary suspension of business, and the consequences this may entail."

"It seems that Valcárcel lies in these moments it is important that the Government forward regional peace and security to citizens," added the MP.

In his opinion, "this attitude now that the wind does not blow in favor, in contrast with which the president had when things were going well."

To Rosique, "the most important now is to know the real reasons for the decisions made by the company and the consequences that they will have on employment and economic activity in the area."

Rosique Teresa recalled that Repsol is "the flagship industrial development in the Region of Murcia."

Therefore it is perfectly understandable uncertainty and confusion created by the announcement of the company to stop production temporarily.

For now, this stop will affect more than 20 companies and 200 workers with indirect jobs and will mean significant losses for the port of Cartagena.

"Since the PSOE consider it essential that the president's appearance at the Regional Assembly to provide explanations for this situation," he concluded.
