Environment plant 1,200 pine trees on Calvary (16/04/2009)

The Department of Environment is proceeding in these days to the planting of 1,200 pine trees on the southern slope of Mount Calvary, an area that was recently equipped and easily accessible to allow city crews to keep in good condition these new plants.

In cocreto, planting began on Wednesday and until Friday morning Gardens crews will continue with this work.

Total of pine will be planted, 600 species are pine and 600 other species of pine.

Species have been released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water to the City of Cartagena.

Councilman Environment Camarzana Isaiah, who has visited the area this morning to observe the work of planting, said that one of the objectives of the council is the recruitment of several areas of the municipality, like the one made last February with students in collaboration with Repsol in lighting.

Camarzana has advanced its council is preparing another school planting for next June.
