The Socialist Party argues that the regional government is putting together "a suit of Hansa Urbana with Novo Carthago" (02/04/2009)

Socialist Party MP, Teresa Rosique, said the regional government continues making up "a suit tailored to the company Hansa Urbana with Novo Carthago."

This tailor made Hansa Urbana began in 2003 with the amendment of the draft Open Space PORN and islands and islets of Mar Menor.

The amendment was to convert PORN developable space which was protected within the scope of the project Novo Carthago.

This remains PORN finally approved and, however, the regional government has used this draft to approve the Environmental Impact Statement favorable and justify the change of use of the protected space.

The deputy recalled that the Environmental Impact Statement was approved under the mandate of the then Minister of Environment, Francisco Marqués which, according to the judicial investigation opened against him, casually, Hansa Urbana company had sold two houses "a bargain price ".

Modification PORN

The publication of the amendment PORN coincided with the presentation to the media of the model of this urban project, in the presence of President Ramón Luis Valcárcel, when the soil was still undeveloped, protected.

Then, the city of Cartagena and the regional government changed the classification of land that became protected by the Land Transfer and Landscape Protection for planning and LIC to "land for development."

Thus, it enabled the construction of between 10,000 and 12,000 homes along the Mar Menor.

Rosique said again, the regional government should be to change existing regulations to suit the interests of the promoter, Hansa Urbana.

"This time it is the turn of the Spatial Plan of the Coastal Region of Murcia with regard to the protection zone of 100 meters to be fixed on both sides of the channels of the gullies to prevent damages cause flooding. "

The parliamentarian said that under the Territorial Plan of the Coastal Region of Murcia in these protection areas should establish a system of applications designed to protect and putting people and property in those areas of greatest water hazards.

According to the socialist deputy interest of this amendment is that the Spatial Plan of the Coastal Region of Murcia prohibits certain uses in the areas of protection of waterways, as tourist accommodation, facilities closed, isolated tourist use, urbanization high, medium and low density and industrial activity.

Teresa Rosique argued that eliminating the buffer zone of the Territorial Plan of the Coastal Region of Murcia is gained ground in order to develop any of these prohibited uses.

Soil Amendment Protection Channels

On February 23, 2009, the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia, issued the Order of the Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, which was subject to public information initial approval of the modification 3 of the Plan Planning of the Region of Murcia.

This change affects the range of Soil Protection Channels, located around the Beal and Las Ramblas Matildes both cross the land of Novo Carthago.

"At the moment, in which thousands of entrepreneurs in the region are experiencing serious difficulties, it is much more shocking to see how there are some companies, such as Hansa Urbana, whose projects have all the regional government's willingness to reach even to change agreed standards for their business go forward, "he complained.

Rosique added that the director José Ballesta must appear at the Regional Assembly and to account for why the regional government is putting together the costume to fit the project Hansa Urbana Novo Carthago.
