The PSOE requires the Department to end the untenable situation of the emergency area Rosell (01/04/2009)

The regional deputies socialist and Sunday Rosique Teresa Carpenter, reported today at a press conference, "the untenable situation of Cartagena hospital, namely the emergency area Rosell."

The Socialist parliamentary group presented a motion demanding an Emergency Plan urgently to end this situation and ensure the quality of care in the emergency department of Rosell and dignity and the right to privacy of patients.

The motion also calls for the Hospital Rosell, once you open a new hospital in Cartagena, becoming the second city's general hospital, ie, that retains all its services and has the necessary resources.

Socialist Parliamentary Group in the Assembly has requested the attendance of the minister, M ª Ángeles Palacios, to clarify how the situation will be Rosell hospital after the inauguration of the new general hospital in Cartagena.

Rosique Teresa recalled that both the Socialist parliamentary group as the Municipal Socialist Group have long denounced the situation they are living "week after week and month to month, users of public health in Cartagena when they have to go to the emergency room."

Unacceptable situation

Rosique referred to the successive complaints are emerging and being made public in the media, revealing "a Third World situation more than 80 people in the halls of ER del Rosell, with parts of income for a period of almost three days in the corridors, in addition to other situations that have been claiming for some time.

Both deputies asserted: "We refuse to continue being patient and asking the minister and we refuse to assume that there is no solution to this problem while the new hospital is completed in Cartagena.

Nor do we accept that citizens have to go on suffering this unacceptable situation that violates fundamental rights as the right to dignity, to health care and the right to privacy must have for any patient. "

For its part, the regional deputy, Domingo Carpena, said that it is necessary that the Health Department as soon as possible to develop a special plan to end the sick in the hallways.

Also defended the work of all health personnel and stressed that in no case justified episodes of violence as recorded in Moratalla few weeks ago.

"The problem is not professionals, but the health organization," they said.

Dismissals in the hospital in Arrixaca

Another issue addressed by the Socialists in the press conference was the firings conducted in a hospital in La Arrixaca.

In this regard, Domingo said Carpena respond "to the disorganization of the Health Service of Murcia and power struggles in the RFP. Counseling is putting political commissars in place that should take professional worth."
