Cartagena awarded more than 5.3 million works to expand the cruise terminal (10/03/2009)

The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, reported this morning that the Government Gazette today published a notice of the Ministry of Public Works which accounts for the resolution of the Cartagena Port Authority for which the award is made public works to expand the cruise terminal in the dock Alfonso XII of that port.

The work, financed with FEDER funds and awarded to the consortium composed of Land Infrastructure and Construcciones SA SA Rubau EUR 5,384,796.28, consisting of the enlargement of the cruise terminal until about 500 meters total length of berth , so as to permit the presence of both two ships in that terminal.

The pier project consists of a docking platform 180 meters long and 12'68 meters wide, two docks and mooring dawn of a clearing of about 2,099 meters square in the backfill of the platform.

González Tovar stressed "the importance of this work so that Cartagena is a tourist destination that deserves its history and the revaluation is being done of its archaeological heritage with performances like those carried out in different parts of the city and construction of ARQUA. "

The delegate of the Government has outlined, as shown in the government work done by Cartagena, its consistency with the work of which has also realized today to build a third lane on the motorway at the exit of the city.
