E Work Plan of the State to postpone the approval of municipal budgets (20/02/2009)

The spokesman for the government team, Joaquín Mowing, told the media that the delay in approving municipal budgets for this year, and was prepared in December, has had to delay because of the urgency which the central government launched the Plan E, the State Investment Fund for works in the municipalities.

According Segado, some of the works envisaged in the budgets are to be made now under state funding, which will have to make modifications, as well as the speed with which they are planning and allocating work they have to end at all costs to December 31 so that when it is running again for approval of budgets.

On the other hand, the municipal government spokesman expressed regret for this for what they consider a lack of interest of the Ministry of Culture for the promotion of reading among young people.

Joaquín Mowing, proof of this is that last year the City Council and the Ministry of Culture signed an agreement by which the latter contributed € 20,000 to the Development Plan for the Reading Award went to the Youth Mandarache Readers, one of the most prestigious in the country and change this year has been lowered to 15,000 euros.

Finally, Segado referred to the state of negotiations between workers and the company zincs for the possible launch of a new factory at the site of The Camachos.

Apparently, there remain good intentions and the City Council has reiterated its support to the extent of its possibilities for the project comes to fruition, but to date there has been no significant change or action in this regard.
