The CATAD two dogs rescued alive from a mine shaft in the Gorguel (29/01/2009)

Call Centre Operators and Treatment of Domestic Animal Hall of Cartagena starred in the morning yesterday to rescue two dogs that were alive inside an abandoned well 15 meters deep on the road between El Gorguel with Portman.

Apparently it was a neighbor who was walking through the area last Tuesday that he heard complaints from animals and discovered, immediately notify the staff that was working on the treatment plant of the municipal solid waste Gorguel who in turn transferred the message to the offices of CATAD.

After assessing the situation and night had fallen and, operators of CATAD decided to postpone the rescue yesterday morning, in which an allocation of 3 members were in charge of it, descending into the well with a harness and hoisted up surface to the two animals that were moved to the center where they remain hospitalized for treatment and recovery.

These two animals of the canine species, a few months, one being a mestizo male German shepherd who had a hemorrhage in the left eye, probably due to the blow received by falling into the pit, and a female mongrel color free black lesions and symptoms of malnutrition.

According to data obtained by the CATAD in place for collecting the animals and the testimony of the person who found them, the conclusion is that they were thrown into the well by anyone, since there is no possibility of accidentally falling and also in the field were recent tire tracks leading from the road to the well, it seems clear that any vehicle got there.
