Already launched a new edition of the Festival of Young Talents Much More May, an event that with only three previous editions has emerged as one of the most exciting cultural initiatives and one of the most important developments in contemporary art and the city in the region, which brings a fresh flow of youthful creativity.

With this fourth edition of the festival is confirmed as the great cultural event of the spring in Cartagena.

The Mucho Mas Mayo is an initiative of the City of Cartagena through its Department of Youth and a large group of young artists in the form of artistic intervention program in the urban environment as a new avenue for creative expression in young this county.

As explained by the councilman of Youth, Javier Herrero, during the presentation, this edition will have a longer duration, a total of 21 days compared to ten in the previous edition.

Be divided into two periods: the first, between 4 and 15 May where it conducted workshops and lecture series, and and the second from 15 to 24 May, which is hosting the festival's program consists of projects selected under the call and cultural programming that complements the festival: the music program, guest artists, One Urban World, the fourth week Short, the literary program, the art fair Art Hotel ...

This year is contemplating collaboration with other festivals and cultural institutions, from the Sea of Music, moving to the Historic Center of Photography (CEHIFORM), pointed out Smith.

Another important point to take place within the Festival is on the spaces where you can act.

It still maintains the main axis of Mucho Mas Mayo, which is the center of old town that goes from the Plaza of Spain to the port along the pedestrian axis and transverse to the area.

This year, he added, as in the last issue, the possibility of intervening on a neighborhood or specific area of the city.

The area chosen for this occasion was the Santa Lucia shanty, with proposals both ephemeral and permanent.

In this sense in the neighborhood of Santa Lucia, and as another follow-up of the festival, will perform an intervention by a group of students from the School of Architecture of Alicante, which last year developed the project called 'Forest Illustrated' in the neighborhood Virgen de la Caridad.

This year will be presented in the same way and selected proposals will be implemented during the festival.

The festival, recalled Smith, is a unique opportunity where we intended to quote some of the most interesting creative experiences of young artists from Cartagena and outside the city, besides being a space for creation, training, debate, the sample of production, etc., with the very young artists, the true stars of a festival that makes culture a means of creating citizenship.

Starting today, establishing a public announcement, subject to some bases, so that they can present all kinds of projects, establishing a Selection Committee composed of renowned professionals from various artistic disciplines and in tune with the spirit of the festival.

In short, members of the Selection Committee are the ones who will determine those projects that are incorporated into the Festival program in its 2009 edition.

To this end, there will be a reserved amount of 60,000 euros.

Can be presented to the call, either individually or collectively youth aged between 16 and 35 years of age on December 31, 2009.

Projects may be submitted any artistic discipline: Music, Dance, Theatre, Graffiti, Comics, Literature, Painting, Photography, Film, interventions, installations, performances or any other form of creation.

The deadline for proposals will end on January 30, 2009.
