The House will ask the ICO to study Spanish projects Zinc (01/12/2008)

The Plenum of the Municipal Corporation has approved this morning to request the Official Credit Institute (ICO) to study industrial projects promoted by the Spanish company of Zinc, assess their viability and to provide financial support and provide the company the working capital necessary to meet its immediate obligations.

The request has come in the form of joint motion of the three local political groups.

As he explained the Government team spokesman, Joaquin Segado, the most important problem that the company has at the moment is the lack of working capital to cope with different concepts, from contractual obligations to workers, through funding projects that facilitate the transfer and payment for the work done so far.

For this reason, and with the knowledge that the Government of Spain is dealing with a line of support through the ICO, to meet the capital needs of small and medium enterprises amounting to 10,000 million euros, the House has approved the motion, but has affected Segado to be the company to present their projects at the ICO to qualify for aid.

On the other hand, and between the different issues that comprise the agenda is the proposed creation of two committees (one political and one technical) to be responsible for developing the application of Cartagena for the Mediterranean Games in 2017.

This proposal was approved unanimously by the three local political groups.

The plenum also discussed the final approval of the Partial Plan Villa Buenos Aires, Marfagones Molinos, which promote social housing.

The Town Planning, Joaquín Mowing, explained that in the first quarter of next year will begin building the first homes in the same number that has applications.

Currently, said Segado, there are about 250 applicants.

Finally, and among other matters, the House has taken steps to grant the title of Cartagena Adoptive Daughter of the former councilwoman and former Socialist deputy, Rosario Juaneda.

During the plenary also discussed some motions, requests from local groups of the PSOE and Citizen Movement.

Among them, the city spokesman, Joaquin Segado, has advanced to this afternoon will be held the first meeting of a committee to try to establish the priority projects eligible for state subsidies intended for the Spanish councils, in response to a Citizen Movement motion asking the government team developing programs and projects to benefit from these grants.

Also, in reference to a motion for the PSOE's regional government buy the land and the turnstile to be earmarked for Sacro Monte VPO, Segado SEPES pointed out that these lands relinquished in return for other days in areas of expansion of the city, such as CC1 sector 2, and now the government team has an ambitious project for this area of the Old Town of Cartagena, amounting to 36 million euros.
