The birth of a new space for art in Cartagena (06/11/2008)

Cartagena now adds a new space dedicated to the most daring and innovative art: Autopsy Pavilion, a unique hexagonal located in Calle Doctor Fleming, next to the Campus de la Muralla del Mar. It was opened for the first time in latest edition of the Festival Much More May, but has been now that the Department of Culture, Cartagena Port of Cultures and the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia through Youth Art Laboratory, are working together on this project with the intention encourage and promote those manifestations of emerging contemporary art.

The specific intention is to analyze where the remains of memory and collective forgetting.

The result of the project so far are more than two hundred people recorded in Spain (Murcia, Valencia, Madrid and Barcelona), Italy (Turin) and Germany (Berlin) that form a complete mosaic conceptual concerns about contemporary society.
