The XVII International Book Fair has record sales and participation with 80,000 visitors (27/10/2008)

The XVII Cartagena Book Fair has broken the record of participation that had thus far, has quadrupled since last year the figure closer to 80,000.

The new location, on Calle del Carmen, Plaza del Sagasta Icue and has encouraged public attendance and thus sales, according to booksellers and have secured the participating publishers.

Comic workshops, literary, protocol, poetry, t-shirt printing and magic, in addition to the workshops, have posted the full lineup of every day as well as other school activities that have involved 540 school students, 1,490 students from different schools in the city and five of the writers of literature for children and youth are more popular in the publishing scene: Antonia Rodenas, Javier Saez Castan, Marisa López, Marta and José Luis Saorin Zafrilla.

Another novelty this year was the house dedicated to Morocco, the host of the festival La Mar de Músicas 2009.

From Rabat, Tangier and Barcelona went four points personalities Moroccans Charifa Dahrouch, Mohamed Bouissef Rechab, Widad ben Moussa and Najat the Hachmi, recently honored with the award Ramon Llull and who signed copies of his book "The Last Patriarch" .

The street music, theater and training seminars have closed the program prepared for the seventeenth edition.
