Adopted amendments to the Tax Ordinance for 2009 (27/10/2008)

Councilman Hacienda, José Cabezas defended along the right place this morning the draft amendment of the Municipal Tax Ordinance for 2009 prepared by the municipal government team, which kept 90% of municipal taxes rates and public prices, and establishing bonuses for large families and retirees.

In this regard, we must remember that the price of childcare, bus and road taxes, Construction (ICIO), Goodwill, Real Special Category (BICES) and Activities (IAE) was frozen in 2009, will expand subsidies to large families (in the IBI) and retirees (in the water bill), and applied the CPI (4.5%) to other taxes and fees.

According to Cabezas, has tried to combine the quality of service delivery with the benefits to those sectors most in need, as is the case of large families and the elderly.

For them we have adopted tax measures, by placing ceiling or limit the CPI (reaching 4.5%), and economic measures, noting that not freeze aid and social grants.

The updating of the tax, the most important issues that made up the agenda has moved forward with votes against the socialist municipal group Citizens' Movement.

The first one because it considers the tax freeze is not so, since in most cases can not go higher because that would go against the law.

The Socialists have been made available to the government team to get a better tax for citizens and encouraged the council of the Treasury to reduce current expenditures to avoid further burdening the pockets of citizens.

For its part, Citizens Movement councilors voted against on the grounds that there are higher taxes and that the initiative would have to defend is a freeze, if not decline, of all of them, and the extension of beneficiaries of the subsidies.

SUPPRESSION OF SENIOR

The motion put forward by the Socialist councilor Francisco Martínez Muñoz on the elimination or reduction of wages and salaries of senior council has given rise to controversial debate during the plenary session held this morning.

The PSOE was calling a halt to all the coordinators and directors-general and the reduction of 5% of the perceptions they receive in compensation or payments in all council members of the corporation.

And the answer of Jose Cabezas, a councilor of Staff, has been clear, saying that both the positions of trust as the council do a decent job, not on a whim and, therefore, no reason to dispense with these professionals.

NIGHT BUS SERVICE

The socialist filed another motion requesting the full implementation of a night bus service in our town to provide a service to young people during the weekend and avoid having to take the car, to the dangers that this can suppose.

Finally, voted no to the urgency, the explanation of the councilman of Youth, Javier Herrero, who advocated that are already implementing policies to this effect, betting on a continued commitment of the government team to improve urban transport and as the success of programs such as the T-LA or the municipal plan of action on drug, launched by the City Council to provide leisure opportunities to young people and promote healthy entertainment.
