The plenary agreed action on the negotiation of the Reform of Local Finance Model (09/10/2008)

The Plenary of the Municipal Corporation today demonstrated that it is not impossible collaboration between different groups that compose it, popular, socialist and citizens' movement, forgetting political differences face issues that are of interest to the public.

Along these lines, have unanimously approved a joint motion for the adoption of measures relating to the negotiations on the Reform of Local funding model, assuming the proposals adopted by the Territorial Council of the FEMP, which includes all Regional Federations Municipalities, Provinces, Councils and Island Councils, in his meeting last September 13 in the city of Zaragoza.

Among the main points of the Territorial Council resolution highlights the model to ensure local governments provide adequate funding and sufficient to provide the services that we belong and to petition the Government firmly committed to improving funding local, incorporating additional resources for local corporations.

The unanimity of the three municipal groups have also been produced before a Socialist motion in defense of the Tajo-Segura against the proposed reform of the Statute of Castilla-La Mancha, which the municipal group has added a fourth point, leaving the follows:

1.

Express outright rejection of the City Council the draft amendment of the Statute of Castilla La Mancha, as this is clearly unconstitutional and undermining the unity of Spain and against the general interests of all Spanish citizens.

2.

Request legal bodies of the Autonomous Region of Murcia to issue a report on the constitutionality of certain articles of the draft amendment of the Statute of Castilla La Mancha.

3.

Forward this motion Constitutional Congress of Deputies and parliamentary groups, both in Congress and the Senate.

4.

We demand the maintenance of the Tajo-Segura as key social and economic development of the Region, and the Government of Spain immediately initiate a new transfer from the Tagus medium that meets the needs of Castilla La Mancha and Basin safe, and that in turn reduces pressure on the headwaters of the Tagus.

Finally, also unanimously adopted a motion for a socialist to social Europe, the 48-hour day and collective bargaining, rejecting the European Union directive that aims to extend the maximum weekly working time to 60 hours in general.

As for the rest of motions that have been discussed in the plenary today, were refused their urgent because in all cases and proceedings are underway aimed at solving the problems.
