Incidents in the town roads and basements in La Manga because of the rains (25/09/2008)

Incidents on highways by water accumulation and flooding basements momentary La Manga, are the main incidents recorded in the last 12 hours, which have been recorded in some areas 35 liters per square meter, as reported by the Councillor for Citizen Security and Services of the City of Cartagena, Enrique Pérez Abellán.

The incidents have been recorded temporarily and progressively, as a result of the nature of rainfall, local showers moderate to strong.

As explained by the council, the impact on roads have led to the court or the regulation of traffic on some stretches where concentrated runoff and plugged the scuppers trawls: a situation that has been solved quickly by the Police and Local Aquagest staff.

The roads affected are:

-The Media Room for about 20 minutes.

-Road to El Albujón The Aljorra, at the height of the football field Albujón.

-El Hondo Plaza del Algar.

-F-34 from Los Urrutias grandchildren in the area of the Sea Star

Also, local heavy rainfall recorded in the area of La Manga have caused some temporary flooding basements and garages.

Abellán Pérez noted that city staff remains on orange alert since the forecast for today and tomorrow suggest that this situation persists for isolated locally heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms.

Several local police patrols are stationed in the headwaters of the streams to observe its evolution.

The interventions in the city, have been particularly significant with respect to the Fire, which intervened in the drainage of water in some garages and detached from a ledge on the square of St. Augustine.
