More than 2,100 students will approach the world of dinosaurs through educational exhibits (24/09/2008)

Councillor for Education, Josefa Maroto, this morning the exhibition "Dinosaurs", the first of a series of teaching samples that make up the supply to the Department of Education to the education community for the academic year 2008/09.

At his side has been the manager of the Mediterranean Area, Esteban Rodriguez, who has worked with the council in organizing this exhibition.

The exhibition offers the possibility, as highlighted by Maroto, of showing the students, for free, visual content on one of the groups most fantasies awake animals both in children's literature as in science fiction films and Adventure: Dinosaurs.

How they came about, how they lived and where, what were the relationships between them, why they disappeared ...

In fact, Maroto explained that a total of 2,150 students can visit the exhibition.

Of this total, 1,900 came from 23 Primary Schools, with 72 participating classes, 180 students from two secondary schools, with six participating classes, and 70 students, three different classes, attend special education centers.

Right now, said the Councillor, a total of 650 students in Primary and Secondary Education are on the waiting list because the holes are depleted for reservations by visiting school groups and teachers.

The groups who come to this exhibition will have a guide who will attend and explain, in a pleasant but rigorous visual content of the various elements described and may visit up to six school groups on the same morning, having two monitors to .

Before the visit, was sent to all applicant institutions teaching materials for teacher and student so that teachers can adequately prepare content that will work in the exhibition.

To facilitate access of schools, the Department will make available to scholars and visiting professors free transportation.

The exhibition will open officially next Monday 29 September at 10.45 am in the ground floor of the Mediterranean Area, with the assistance of the Director General to act on Promoting Education and Innovation Ministry of Education, Fernando Cabinet .

After this inauguration will be a press pass by the exhibition curator for the media and officials attending, and then give way to visit schools that already have a reservation for that day.

From then until October 18, the exhibition will be open in the evenings and weekends to the general public since the morning hours of 9 to 14 is reserved for arranged visits school groups.
