The City Council will expand the police presence in the northwest of the town (15/09/2008)

Cartagena City Council expand the police presence in the northeast of the county (The Aljorra, Pains ...) after incorporating the police officers who have recently passed the opposition.

As indicated by the Security council, Enrique Pérez Abellán, the intention is that the count Aljorra a local police patrol 24 hours a day, as the mayor promised to the residents of this area, expected during the last quarter of 2009, upon completion of the training course at the Police Academy these new additions.

There are currently 302 local police, who have to add 26 new hires.

It is expected that this year will end with a staff of 350 local police officers, has indicated Pérez Abellán.

PROSTITUTION IN THE OLD TOWN

Asked by journalists, Enrique Pérez Abellán commented that the work of local police in this case is the identification and request for documentation to these persons as well as monitoring the local license and business activity is the one that actually is contained in the documents.

Abellán Pérez pointed out that the role of his department is working with other security forces.
