Classroom Project will guide young people about their job prospects (11/09/2008)

The Councillor for Youth and Employment, Javier Herrero, has announced today the launch Classroom Project, the Agency of Local Development and Employment, which is to inform and guide students, unemployed and employed workers and District of Cartagena over the course of training to follow, and the possibilities of achieving a successful job placement and training of employees.

CLASS is the generic name of two programs: Classroom Mobile Classroom fixed.

First, the classroom setting, is conducting courses, workshops and group counseling sessions aimed at users in general, taught in the ADLE facilities.

The contents will include: How to study?, Academic failure and dropout; How to find my first job?, Occupational stress, prevention of occupational risk emotions in decision-making tests recruitment, psychometric and interviews, motivation and job satisfaction and customer service.

As for the mobile classroom, is divided into two sub-programs.

DECIDE program aimed at Secondary Schools both public and private universities and Cartagena and surroundings.

Will be to offer students a series of workshops and sessions on career guidance and professional, whose main objective will be to inform about the possibilities and alternatives that have to complete their studies.

These courses and sessions are also intended to provide students with tools for job search, acquire and study habits, and develop entrepreneurial skills that enable them to face challenges in their future, both personally and professionally.

Orientation sessions, an hour will consist of orientation sessions at the end of the ESO, orientation at the end of high school, entrance exam guidance to vocational training, job search work for college students and career opportunities for university students.

As for the orientation courses, 10 to 12 hours, will focus on my jump to the Institute, Preventing school failure, How to overcome fear of examinations, relaxation and stress management, study techniques, Search Techniques Employment, Entrepreneurship and Dissemination of Learning to prevent risks at work.

The other is the ORIEN sub-TA, which consists of the courses and orientation sessions in companies and businesses in Cartagena, led to active employees through training offered annually.

Its contents are Time Management, The business communication, motivation and job satisfaction, prevention of occupational hazards of work team management and teamwork, problem resolution, decision making, physical and mental load of work; Measures to prevent fatigue, and customer service.

During the presentation of Classroom Project, Javier Herrero has been accompanied by the Director General on Promoting Education in the Autonomous Community, Fernando Cabinet, with which to start a contribution through an agreement in the field of vocational guidance and Vice Chancellor for Student of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Francisco Martínez.

The latter has highlighted the successful collaboration between City Hall and UPCT in vocational guidance, as evidenced by the fact that some 300 university students passed last year by the two taught courses on Entrepreneurship in the Mobile Classroom.
