Another 43 immigrants intercepted during last night (30/07/2008)

A total of 43 immigrants trying to reach Spain on board different ships were intercepted during the evening passed as a result of various actions.

The first of these was held in the afternoon, when a Spanish naval vessel intercepted a boat sailing for some 52 miles south of Cartagena.

The meeting came a ship Salvage vessel to which they were transhipped ten immigrants who were transferred, with the escort of a Civil Guard patrol boat, the port of Cartagena, where they arrived at 3.15 pm today .

Moreover, to the 20 pm yesterday, Police, Marine Rescue and Customs Enforcement launched a force consisting of five vessels and a helicopter after it was known sighting of a group of four other boats.

This operation led to that, late Monday, were intercepted three of these boats, they sailed 7 miles south of Cabo de Palos.

They traveled 26 people.

Following this finding, it kept the device for the fourth a small boat, which was intercepted at the 3'05 pm today at the beach of Las Sirenas, La Manga del Mar Menor, with seven immigrants on board.

The 43 immigrants intercepted yesterday are all Algerian nationals and are in apparent good health.

With the exception of a minor traveling in the group of three boats intercepted south of Cabo de Palos, the rest are seniors.
