IU Cartagena denounced the "aggravating situation" in the neighborhood of Jose Maria Puerta by the presence of rodents (17/07/2008)

The local coordinator of United Left (IU) in Cartagena, Victoria Rodriguez, reported today that the neighbors José María Door "are experiencing a situation aggravated by what appears to be a plague of rodents" in the area.

According to Rodriguez, the neighbors have complained that since the work was carried out cross-road and left debris in the field, rats have taken over the place to build their burrows in the soil of the park and in the treetops.

"The situation is unsustainable in the streets dancing and Ocaña, where rodents are entering the housing, which is causing a very unpleasant situation for residents in the neighborhood," he said.

To this must be added, said the coordinator of IU, which "has been observed many neighbors with flea bites, which may be due to the large number of rodents that exist in the neighborhood."

Rodriguez called the city of Cartagena to apply appropriate measures "urgently" to end the proliferation of rodents in the neighborhood, "because of not taking action could be endangering the health of neighbors."
