ARGEM starts summer school dedicated to the energy certification of buildings and combined cycles (12/07/2008)

The Energy Management Agency of the Region of Murcia (ARGEM) under the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Planning, begins his first summer course at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena on energy certification of buildings and instruments When optimizing resources due to energy demand.

The course, called 'energy certification as a tool to improve the quality of buildings', aims to promote the acquisition of knowledge about energy demand in buildings, and learning a first spreadsheet programs LIDER, Calener-VYP Calener-GT and tools that will optimize the buildings from the energy standpoint.

The course sessions are held from Monday 14 to 18 July with a program that meets the requirements of Royal Decree 47/2007, which states that all new buildings should have an energy label, similar to that already have appliances, air conditioners and even cars.

This tag determines the level of energy demand of the building, establishing seven categories ranging from A (most efficient) to G (less efficient).

In this regard, the Ministry of Housing has developed computer programs to determine the energy demand of buildings and compared with a reference standard so that it results in the energy category, and these computer programs are those that explain during the course, which is therefore a practical nature.

It also has organized ARGEM another summer course to be held in Torre Guil CEMACAM and focus on the combined cycle, on days 21, 22 and 23 July.

This second program shows in detail the various technologies deployed on the combined cycle Escombreras Valley, with special emphasis on the design for yield optimization.

The course includes basic lessons and provide information on the management of natural gas prior to delivery to each plant, describing the stages of liquefaction, shipping and regasification.

Note the paper on the gas transport network and operations management.

The conference will be complemented with visits to the combined cycle plants in the Valley of tailings: Iberdrola (800 MW) and Natural Gas (1,200 MW).

With this schedule the ARGEM underscores the firm commitment of combined cycle plants as guarantors of gas with high output power (greater than 56 percent), low cost of a kilowatt installed, low operating and maintenance costs, high reliability and availability, and low emissions compared to other conventional technologies.

A key point in the energy mix country and a cornerstone for the fulfillment of environmental commitments.
