Ute Lemper's arrival to the international scene was a small earthquake.

It is common to find cases like yours.

Singers with criteria that go beyond the boundaries of popular classical music with a return path.

Would have to go back to Lotte Lenya (wife and muse of Kurt Weill) and Cathy Berberian (wife and muse, also, by Luciano Berio) for an example of its height.

Ute was born in Münster (Germany) in 1963.

After graduating from the Academy of Dance in Cologne and at the School of Drama Workshop by Max Reinhardt in Vienna, Stuttgart began acting with roles in works by Fassbinder and others engaged intellectually and artistically.

Her acting career was guided, initially, to musical theater, which led her to play the role of Velma Kelly in the musical Chicago (London, New York, Las Vegas), Lola in The Blue Angel (where your story begins love with the figure of Marlene Dietrich), Peter in Peter Pan (both in Berlin), Cats in Vienna and Sally Bowles in Cabaret in Paris.

Having obtained the necessary tables begin his real career.

A career born of a commitment to art, politics and history and outside claims and complicated relations with their homeland and its past.

His repertoire includes the Berlin cabaret songs and the work of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill.

But also found in the French chanson a perfect vehicle for artistic expression.

His style has left examples refined versions of both Tom Waits, Elvis Costello and Nick Cave as Piaf, Prévert, Gainsbourg and Brel.

But for a restless artist like her is not enough.

Maurice Bejart ballet created for her sudden death, for which he was awarded as a dancer in Paris in 1990.

And paints.

His paintings are hung at the Goethe Institute in Washington and in the theater of the City of Paris.

His discography reflects all these contrasts.

Illusions, his first big success was a tribute to Piaf and Dietrich.

Then come Songbook, with music by Michael Nyman with texts on the Holocaust in Romania, City of Strangers, with songs by Jacques Prévert others faced with Stephen Sondheim, the version of The Threepenny Opera, his admiration Berthold Brecht and Kurt Weill, or But one day, which includes for the first time, five of his compositions.

All part of a series of well-designed albums.

The secret?

A flexible voice, high stability and balance.

A privileged instrument in which the technique has left a mark that allows you, regardless of their preparation and nature shines in all that is proposed.

SYNOPSIS

Mia Hansen-Love is a debutant director 27 years, with previous experience as an actress and film criticism.

Perhaps because of all that, is able to highlight the radical nature of such false staging designed exclusively for film festivals.

In Tout est pardonée has over ten years in the life of a couple, an Austrian and French at the beginning of the film have a six year old daughter, but does so based on cartoons and ellipses.

The episodes are choosing to have that, episodes: no condensation of tragedy or joy, no calculations or to the side toward the hyperbolic or lethargy, pure life, that's what's in a narrative whose tone can be described as miraculous taking into account that the components thinning the relationship between Victor and Annette have to do with heroin and adultery.

Nor is conviction in the film (and no conclusion), the director opted to put the camera in the service of the story I wanted to tell, and the sleaze and sensationalism were out.
