With these actions has managed to improve accessibility and facilitate the transit of citizens in the area, as well as curb the factors altering the plant area and historic monument.

The second part of the project is based on the immediate natural environment through silvicultural treatments, thereby improving the status of degraded habitats or threatened the protected area and the elimination of waste and existing discharges.

Also restored the Barranco del Moro by cleaning up waste, gully filling, watering plants and restoration help.

The Minister of Sustainable Development has assured that they are restoring all plant and forest areas near the Roman road.

These works, together with other actions to be performed in the Regional Park Calblanque allow for better conservation of this protected area.

It also welcomed the collaboration Merchant 'la Caixa', which contributes to the Ministry in promoting sustainable management of natural areas.

The origin of the Roman road-Atamaria Portman, located in the Regional Park Calblanque, dates from the period in which it functioned as the principal point of liaison with the Mar Menor.

This road has been used until the early twentieth century, when they built the present road that passes over it.

Currently, some 2,700 meters retain original paving of the road.

For its part, the Regional Park Calblanque, Monte de las Cenizas y Peña del Águila is located in the eastern portion of the coastline of the Murcia region, between the towns of Cartagena and La Union.

This area is protected natural area since 1987 and Regional Park since 1992.
