The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, received this morning the visit of the outgoing director of the Repsol refinery in Cartagena, Angel Crespo, and the new director of the facility, José Francisco Vazquez, who will take care of it next Monday .
The latter has discussed various aspects of the new factory to be built on tailings, larger than the present, and whose works appeal to a floating population of six thousand workers who will have to provide services.
In this sense, Repsol opened a website for firms interested in providing these services come out, an interest that has been increasing in the region and shows that there are more entries, as it has secured José Francisco Vázquez.
Repsol sectors are demanding services, logistics, construction and civil works.
The new facility director stated that we have companies here because they need all hands available to carry out this work, and businesses in the region are those with a perfect willingness to be the most competitive.
The draft of the new factory Repsol Cartagena is approved, there are only necessary authorizations, is scheduled to begin summer before civil works, which will take about two years.
The goal is that by 2011 is running the new refinery.
