The Artillery Cross donated 4,700 euros to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (27/01/2016)

The caring face of sport has been best represented this morning by donating part of their collection to the Spanish Association Against Cancer.

This act has led to the climax of the 14th annual Cross Artillery Cartagena.

The amount contributed to the fight against this disease amounts to 4,700 euros and will be used mostly for research, as confirmed Nazarene Balaguer, member of the board of the association.

Colonel Chief Artillery Regiment No. 73, Jose Luis Carbonell, has been commissioned to deliver the check to the representative of the association, in the presence, in turn, the Councillor for Sports, Ricardo Segado. The Colonel expressed his satisfaction for organizing this sporting event because, on the one hand, allows them to collaborate with the Association against cancer, and secondly, to promote the sport here in Cartagena and approach to society.

Furthermore, Carbonell has thanked the City Council and sponsors its collaboration with the Cross of artillery, and thanks to their work can carry out this special activity.

For the next edition, to be held in November this year, Carbonell has advanced to work in a special edition, but also similar to last year because it has wide acceptance among people.

For his part, Councillor for Sports, Ricardo Mowing, highlighted the great work that lies behind all these sporting events by both the organization, antiaircraft artillery regiment as by the technicians of the council. All this bears fruit today, according Segado, with this check that is delivered to the Spanish Association Against Cancer.

Taking this opportunity, Nazarene Balaguer, he recalled that the Spanish Association Against Cancer is the NGOs that more money spent on cancer research in this country.

In this work, he stressed that every day there is good news and new developments. Finally, Balaguer, has called for citizens to help the association by becoming members and volunteers.
