162 young talents will attend the nineteenth edition between strings and brass (26/01/2016)

A total of 162 young people, students of professional music teaching appointment at the XIX Competition between strings and brass that organizes the Youth Council and the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena will be given.

This year will feature the participation of various conservatories and music schools not only Cartagena but the entire region of Murcia, Cieza, Jumilla, Lorca, Caravaca de la Cruz and San Javier and the School of Music Chaplin.

The competition consists of two phases, a playoff and final will take place during the months of March and April in the Auditorium of the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena, with free entrance until full capacity.

A total of 10,000 euros in prize money will be shared with a first in each of the modes of euro s 750, a second 350 euros and 150 euros a third party.

AWARDS AND CLOSING

The Auditorium and Convention Center The Batel host the Friday, May 6 from 20:00 the awards ceremony and the closing concert for the jury's verdict is known.

During the ceremony, the cellist Peter Fernandez Millan, who with only 14 years won the first prize in the string last year's contest between strings and brass, opening act the closing ceremony.

It will be accompanied by the Cartagena Chamber Orchestra playing the Concerto for Cello and Orchestra in C Major by J. Haydn.

Or will rquesta Conservatory of Music in Cartagena that is responsible for closing the award, leading the two groups Barnabas Andres Perez.

Throughout the month of November Auditorium of the music conservatories of Murcia, Lorca and Cartagena witnessed the talent of our young musicians winners of the last edition of between strings and brass that played as soloists accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena in the so-called cycle of promotional gigs.

As usual, after the completion of this series of concerts, Chamber Orchestra selected one of the soloists of the seven participating to play at the close of this year's competition, being in this occasion chosen Lorca cellist Peter Fernandez Millan.
