The City of Cartagena is offering scholarships to a dozen students from the Polytechnic in the department of Municipal Infrastructure (21/12/2015)

The City of Cartagena and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) have today created a chair in which a dozen students develop research projects to improve urban infrastructure and environmental sustainability.

The Chair City of Cartagena Municipal Infrastructure - UPCT have a prize for the year 2016 of 103,500 euros and six lines of research to reduce the environmental impact and optimize management in the area of ​​infrastructure the City of Cartagena.

Regeneration of degraded soils, sustainable urban mobility, improve water supply and sanitation infrastructure, New technologies for the optimization of municipal services, energy efficiency and use of renewable energy and urban gardens are the six lines of research of the Chair and for each of them coordinated by a researcher at the Polytechnic, two scholarships for students UPCT will be convened.

Specific collaboration agreement signed today for the creation of the Chair is part of the lines of work under the Framework Agreement recently signed by the two institutions, and shows the real interest of the Corporation to strengthen links with the University and the confidence in its research groups to improve efficiency and develop lines of research that will result in improvements for citizens.
