The Bureau of Animal Welfare set up two task forces (18/11/2015)

The Bureau of Animal Welfare, established last October, was held this morning a new meeting, chaired by council area of Quality of Life, Francisco Calderon, which have been advanced on the guidelines set in the constitution of the Bureau.

During the meeting, held at the administrative building of San Miguel, they have formed the two teams that will deal with different objectives.

On the one hand, a group will deal with the legal aspects, whose end will change the municipal regulations regarding pets.

The other desk work will be devoted to design prevention campaigns and educativ as presenting initiatives for debate, design and implementation of programs and activities, and so on.

During the meeting it was confirmed that the Bureau of Animal Welfare will work with the regional government to amend certain laws relating to animal welfare.

The Bureau of Animal Welfare, whose next meeting will be held during the month of December, aims to promote awareness policies to promote responsible pet adoptions;

Pet avoid abandonment;

monitor compliance with the Law on Protection and Keeping of Animals;

plus access to the ordinances and municipal licenses related to this area, among other functions.

The Board is made up of various groups: local police;

Seprona;

UNED;

UPCT;

CATAD;

College of Veterinary Surgeons;

animal welfare;

Hall legal services;

technicians of the Department of Health, and representatives of all political groups of the Municipal Corporation.
