Jose Manuel Gomez Gufi is music journalist.
It transformed by listening to Camarón, Paco de Lucia, Poison or Morente, v IVIO the new Madrid wave writing about jazz. Dubbed Dj Gufi by flamingos Caracol early 90s, since then strives to click and write about flamenco and world music.
Cartagena usual summers, covering for the newspaper El Mundo on the Sea Music Festival has just finished his book Tribulations of a flamingo dj, book coming to present on Friday 20 November to Cartagena Jazz Festival.
The appointment will be at 19:30 at Cafe Mister Witt.
Gomez will be presented by the music critic of The Angel View Sopena.
Jose Manuel Gomez Gufi began his journalism career in 1982 in the Journal News of Madrid, after passing through the Johnny (the largest school San Juan Evangelista).
In the early nineties he is dubbed by Dj Gufi Flamingos Caracol, since he insists Flemish punch against the best of world music.
Author of books ¿Heads¿ Talking (1998), Gabinete Caligari (1989), Juan Luis Guerra (1993) and what essential salsa¿ Guide (1995).
His recent work emphasizes his participation in the book What Flamencos¿ (Editoria King Lear, 2013) or the Gipsy disco Rhumba¿ (Soul Jazz, 2014).
