La Virgen del Quinche joined hundreds of Ecuadorians in Cartagena (10/09/2015)

About three hundred South Americans joined Wednesday September 9 to accompany the Virgen del Quinche in procession to the Church of Santo Domingo. The Ecuadorian navy carried the image from the Parish of San Cristobal de Lorca.

The faithful who accompanied the Virgen del Quinche not only came from Cartagena, but buses Alicante Region and transported to the port city to attend the procession and Mass, held in the Church of Santo Domingo.

The Virgin of Quinche, patron of a neighborhood in the city of Quito, is highly revered by the people of Ecuador, who thanks to this act could be a little closer to earth.

Applause, cheers and excitement yesterday flooded the center of Cartagena, in yellow, red and blue balloons, announcing that the Virgin of Quinche visiting the port city, and its faithful.

After the arrival to the Church of Santo Domingo, a Mass he was held and subsequently returned in procession to the ship.

A very special day and hardly forget Ecuadorians living in the port city.

For this reason the City of Cartagena wanted to accompany them.

The mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor, Ana Belen Castejon, Councillor of Greater Quality of Life, Francisco Calderon, mayor attended the delegate of Industry, Tourism, Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development, Obdulia Gomez, Councillor for Culture, Education and Equality, David Martinez and Councilwoman Transparency Portal and Office, José María Soler.
