The mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, collects and endorses the requests of associations and groups related to the Monasterio de San Gines, so that the law is fulfilled regarding visits to this property.

In this sense, has sent a written request to Hansa Urbana, company responsible for the work to consolidate the building, to allow an open door, on August 25, the feast of San Gines, as the beginning of a calendar that favors request visits on weekends.

The mayor said that the right of citizens to visit the Monastery, is outlined in the Law of Historical Heritage of the Region of Murcia.
