Two students mounted a model that simulates the implementation of large industries (12/08/2015)

Students of the subject of Instrumentation in the degree of Electronic Engineering and Industrial Automation will have next year with a model simulation of industrial processes to teaching practices.

The team, which has three tanks and a control unit for exchanging and mixing liquids and automatically controlling temperature levels and through intelligent sensors based on ultrasound, pressure transmitters, flowmeters and other art instruments, designed and assembled by two students from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) during their Final Project (TFG), supervised by Professor Francisco Ortiz, the Department of Electronics Technology.

The model has been completed thanks to the material, advice and specialized assembly work provided for free by companies Sabic, Inabensa, Cable Techniques and Emerson and professionals the first two firms, Cordoba and Javier Santiago Rodriguez and his team of instrumentation .

These collaborations are the result of the Conference on Industrial Instrumentation conducted this course in UPCT.

"The opportunity to work with the same equipment used in heavy industry and get in touch with engineers in the sector is very valuable for students," said the leaders of both TFG.

In fact, one of the students, Tomás Miguel Hernandez Soto, has just been signed by Tecnicas Reunidas, for a year of practice as just the race, thanks to the experience gained during the project.

"Les interest that would have worked to design a complete production process and who knew the real equivalence instrumentation equipment that are used in large industries," summarizes the student.

His partner, Eloy Lorca Lera continue forming in one of the masters of the School of Industrial Polytechnic of Cartagena.

Indeed, the equipment fitted by these two students will be useful in a possible Master of Electronics and Instrumentation in working UPCT.
